Sonar Mati means golden soil. We started because we wanted the honey, ghee and gur we grew up with, and found it hard to buy in the city without wondering what was in it.
Who we buy from
Honey collectors at the edge of the Sundarbans and beekeepers who move their hives to the mustard fields of Sirajganj and the lychee orchards of Dinajpur. Dairy farmers in Sirajganj for ghee, a ghani mill in Tangail for mustard oil, and gachhis in Jashore for khejur gur. Dates and nuts are imported, and we say so on the label.
How we sell
We buy in small batches, check every batch ourselves and pack to order, with the packing date on the label. You can pay on delivery anywhere in Bangladesh, or by bKash and Nagad.
What we will not say
We will not tell you that a food cures anything. We tell you what it is, where it comes from and how to use it, and let you decide.
